BOARD DESCRIPTION: Our “CLASSIC” Solid Hardwood Cutting Boards are a single piece of Pennsylvania hardwood cut to size with or without a live-edge (natural edge) then fine sanded and cured. CLASSIC Boards have no routed grooves featuring a flat cutting surface on both sides of the board – a solid hardwood wood slab available in many shapes, sizes and wood species that include hard maple, walnut and cherry. These are our most basic boards but also our most versatile doing it all from prepping meal ingredients to Charcuterie to serving. CLASSIC Boards are typically 1.5” to 2” thick with cutting surfaces on both sides.    

WOOD: All of our wood is processed by us, from log to finished cutting board – closed-grain Southeastern Pennsylvania Hardwood that absorbs less liquid helping to minimize food contamination. Wood known for its appealing color and natural character that brings nature into any space. Store your CLASSIC Board on edge against the backsplash for an amazing natural accent that will surely get noticed.

Sugar (Hard) Maple typically has a light colored sapwood with a gold hue while its heartwood is usually a darker reddish brown. Hard Maple commonly has a quilted or curly grain pattern that dramatically increases its character. Grain is usually straight but can be wavy and has a fine even texture. Additionally, Hard Maple is a closed-grain hardwood and helps to stop liquid absorption into the wood – stopping food contamination.  

BOARD CARE: ZimBOARD Cutting Boards are solid single piece cutting boards and therefore require simple routine maintenance. Boards should be stored on edge allowing for uniform exposure to the surrounding atmosphere and oiled using a food grade mineral oil or cutting board conditioner.
